Two vehicles arrive at a four-way stop at the same time. Who goes first?
✓ The vehicle on the right
When two vehicles stop simultaneously, the driver on the LEFT yields to the driver on the RIGHT. If vehicles arrive at different times, the first to stop goes first. Making eye contact and moving predictably matters more than being technically correct.
Your right wheels drift off the pavement onto a soft shoulder. You should:
✓ Ease off the gas, keep going straight, then steer back gently when speed is under control
Yanking the wheel back is what turns a shoulder drop into a rollover or a head-on. Hold straight, ease off the accelerator, let the car slow, then steer back gradually when the speed is low enough to cross the pavement edge smoothly.
If your vehicle starts to skid, you should:

Ease off the gas, don't slam the brakes, and look and steer where you want to go — your hands follow your eyes. Braking hard or oversteering usually turns a recoverable skid into a spin.
